Scholarships
Recipients are selected from a competitive pool of students based on academic profiles and details submitted in the application. The Scholarship Committee considers those who demonstrate academic performance, engagement in high school, community service and leadership.
Chapters may not use funds raised from the public to give scholarships to the child of a soror in the chapter.
All applications must be submitted by specified deadline using the online application provided in the link below. We will not accept any hard copy applications and required supplemental documents or hard copy letters of recommendation.

Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated offers a limited number of scholarships to African American high school students who will enroll in an accredited institution of higher education. All students must be currently enrolled in high school. We are proud to offer scholarships to eligible high school students seeking financial assistance and serving the community. It is our desire to assist students in achieving their educational goals and objectives and for them to Be Vital, Be Valuable, Be Visible!

Miss Jabberwock Pageant Scholarships
The Miss Jabberwock Pageant Scholarships are awarded bi-annually when the Jabberwock Pageant is held to Jabberwock contestants (high school female junior or senior) participating, who have shown forth their commitment by paying the determined deposit amount by the established deadline (by the end of the sorority year prior to the pageant). All Sweetheart contestants have up to 7 years to request award to be sent to their post-secondary school.

Jabberwock Scholastic Scholarship
The Jabberwock Scholastic Scholarship will be awarded to a Jabberwock female contestant and male student escort in the amount of $1,000.00 each to be used within one year of receipt. This scholarship is awarded bi-annually when a Jabberwock Pageant is held. Application deadline is May 1 by 11:50 p.m. to facdstscholarship@gmail.com. Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter Delta GEMS/EMBODI Bi-Annual Scholarship
The Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter Delta GEMS/EMBODI Bi-Annual Scholarship will be awarded during the non-Jabberwock year to one senior female Delta GEM and one male senior EMBODI participant in the amount of $1,000.00 each to be used within one year of receipt. Application deadline is April 15 by 11:59 p.m. to facdstscholarship@gmail.com.

Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated offers a limited number of scholarships to undergraduate sophomore, junior or senior African American college students who are currently attending a school of higher learning (i.e., community college or 4-year college).

Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter Former Jabberwock Contestants Scholarship
The Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter Former Jabberwock Contestants Scholarship is an annual scholarship awarded to a female undergraduate sophomore, junior or senior former Miss Jabberwock contestant in the amount of $1,000.00 to be used within one year of receipt. Application deadline is February 15 by 11:59 p.m. to facdstscholarship@gmail.com .
Delta Xi Chapter Educational Scholarship
The Delta Xi Chapter Educational Scholarship is an annual scholarship awarded to one well-deserving Delta Xi member with an annual distribution of $1,000.00. This scholarship supports a Delta Xi member in good standing with Fayetteville State University, Delta Xi Chapter and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. The scholarship is awarded in the spring semester. Application deadline is November 1 by 5:00 p.m. to the Office of Scholarship and Financial Aid, Fayetteville State University, Lilly Gym, 1st Floor.
In addition to the above, all applicants:

Must write an essay/personal statement

Must scan an official copy of his/her high school/college transcript and be prepared to upload the transcript to the scholarship application. The official transcript must reflect applicant’s cumulative GPA and include grades from the first semester of freshman year to first semester senior year (high school students)/first fall semester to first fall semester of college classification for college students.

Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated offers community scholarships through the University Advancement Office, Fayetteville State University (FSU) and the Cumberland Community Foundation, Incorporated.
We expanded our scholarships to include sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate students who are pursuing a degree program at Fayetteville State University. This scholarship is funded by the Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and administered by the Office of Financial Aid at FSU.

Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter Scholarship at Fayetteville State University (criteria):

To provide a gift as deemed appropriate to one well-deserving student annual distribution of $1,200 with a financial need for the purpose of his or her education

To support a student in good standing with the University

One student receives the annual award: 50% fall semester; 50% spring semester

Student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 minimum

Classification: sophomore, junior or senior

Demonstrate leadership with a campus organization
-
Consistent community involvement/community service of activity with the same entity for a minimum of 25 hours within the past 12 months; verified on letterhead of agency

Letter of Recommendation from a Fayetteville State University faculty/staff

Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated Scholarship at Cumberland Community Foundation, Incorporated (criteria):
Students may apply who meet ALL of these requirements:

African American Female High School student; and
-
Residing in Cumberland County, NC; and
-
Graduating from a high school in Cumberland County, NC the spring of the application deadline; and
-
Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher (unweighted) or 3.5 or higher (weighted); and
-
Entering and/or accepted to a non-profit college or university in the fall following high school graduation as a full-time matriculating student.

Renewable: This scholarship award shall be renewable under the following circumstances:
x Scholarship award shall be renewable if the student continues full time enrollment and maintains a GPA of 3.0 and is classified as a rising sophomore, junior or senior and other recommended conditions:

Student is in good standing with the University as determined by the transcript.

Demonstrates active involvement/community service for a minimum of 25 hours within the past 12 months with the same entity, as verified via letter of reference on letterhead of agency.

A letter of recommendation from a university faculty or staff member.
The Foundation invest, reinvest the assets of the Fund of the Fayetteville Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated Scholarship. The Fund is administered by the Foundation.
Students are invited to apply for this scholarship through the Online Scholarship Portal, complete and submit the General Scholarship Application. Students are encouraged to allow time to collect the information for the scholarship and not wait until the last minute to apply. Nothing will be accepted the day after the application deadline.
